Depression Treatment

When someone you care about is nervous, frequently irritable and seems to have ongoing problems sleeping and concentrating, it’s time to meet with us. Anxiety disorders, which include social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), are linked to depression; in fact, almost half of the people with major depression have endured persistent anxiety.

LifeCare therapists often use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help people figure out what’s really bothering them and manage their emotions. Therapists also teach relaxation techniques that can provide a moment of respite when life is hard. Sometimes, LifeCare’s psychiatrist may prescribe medication, which will be carefully monitored and used only for that chemical reset that may be necessary.
